What is IDRA-21?
Due to IDRA 21 being a positive allosteric modulator of the glutamate AMPA receptor, a mediator for fast synaptic neurotransmission in the central nervous system, investigation of IDRA-21 was initially kicked off for its potential as a cognition-enhancing agent.
Classified as an ampakine, IDRA-21 may facilitate focus, attention and memory. IDRA-21 was originally developed in 1994 to reverse the side effects of attention and memory deficit caused by long-term administration of alprazolam, a medication prescribed for relieving anxiety and panic disorders. Studies where delayed matching-to-sample tasks were performed showed a significant improvement in results after administering IDRA-21 orally. The performance was improved by 34% with a duration of up to 48 hours after ingestion. It can be assumed that the effectiveness is accumulated by regular administration.
IDRA-21 is able to cross the blood-brain barrier and therefore more potent than other nootropic agents. A comparison study to determine visual recognition memory capacity suggests that IDRA-21 is much more potent than huperzine A for example.
Effects
- Improves focus
- Increases attention span
- Improves memory
- Improves cognition
- Improves task accuracy
Application
One capsule a day with 250ml of liquid such as water, juice or whichever non-alcoholic beverage.
Dosage
Most sources suggest a dosage of 10mg daily. One dose of IDRA-21 may last up to 48 hours and therefore higher doses are generally not recommended. The dosage should not exceed the mentioned amount and only if necessary carefully increased over time.
Stacking
IDRA-21 should not be taken with other ampakine medicines, such as aniracetam. Nootropics that increase glutamate levels should be avoided in conjunction with IDRA-21.
Risks & Side effects
In general, IDRA-21 is considered to be a safe supplement. However, there is a lack of meaningful studies. IDRA-21 should be avoided at all times in patients prone to strokes or strokes. Consumers who suffer from seizures or are prone to strokes should avoid consumingIDRA-21 at all times.
