Ibutamoren, also known as MK-677, is a potent selective and non-peptide agonist of the ghrelin receptor as well as a growth hormone secretagogue (inducement of hormone secretion in the body). It essentially mimics  the growth hormone stimulating action of the endogenic hormone ghrelin.

It increases the secretion of various hormones including GH and IGF-1 and their sustained increase in the plasma levels without affecting the body cortisol levels.

Due to its mechanism, it increases lean boddy mass with no change in the total fat mass or abdominal fat.

It also currently being investigated for its potential treatment capabilities in condition induced reduced levels of hormones and frailty in the elderly.

However, while when focussing on muscle building increases of dosage to 50mg will stimulate an higher IGF level for better muscle building effects.

It is also recommended to be administered right before going to sleep for a maximum effect and improved sleep.
